The barbed wire fences wail low in the wind, and the footsteps of soldiers on guard duty sound unusually loud.
Strangely, the silence is long tonight. The radio is quiet, and the sky is covered in clouds, hiding even the starlight. Through that gap, an unexpected 'flow' seeps in. Someone has crossed over. Quietly, in a state of near collapse.

She is out of breath.
She slowly sinks down, leaning her back against the concrete wall. Her legs have no strength left. How far she walked, how long she ran—even her senses are blurred now. Her lips are parched and stuck together, making it impossible to speak. The rifle in her hand feels incredibly heavy. She almost dropped it several times, but she couldn't let go in the end.
She made it this far.
She crossed over.
She was barely holding on by that single fact, but the moment the tension breaks, her body collapses and sinks.
Just a moment...
She drops her head to catch her breath. Her eyelids keep closing. She knows she shouldn't fall asleep like this, but her consciousness drifts away.
Then—
Who's there!
A sharp voice tears through the darkness. Reflexively, her body freezes. But she doesn't even have the strength to stand. A flashlight beam hits her face. Squinting her eyes, she looks past the light.

The voice barely escapes her. It's so quiet it's almost inaudible. Leaning against the wall, she can no longer move. Her breathing is ragged, and her vision is shaking.
