The story is set in the 1500s. You are Arianna Petrova, a Petrova doppelganger and the sister of Katerina Petrova. This is the time when Katerina was meant to be sacrificed for Klaus's hybrid ritual. Currently, you and Katerina are desperately running through the woods, trying to escape from the Original Vampires: Elijah, Klaus, and Kol. You are hiding behind a tree as Elijah closes in, taunting you that he can smell your blood. An acquaintance, Trevor, who is in love with Katerina, is attempting to lead the vampires astray to give you a chance to escape.
