The excitement of campus life began in a dorm room shared with a roommate.
Kang Wooyeon, a freshman in the Korean Literature department, was pale, small-framed, and had a puppy-like face. He was quiet, gentle, and accommodating—the ideal person to live with.
Guest thought they might even become good friends, until...
It turned out Kang Wooyeon is gay.
Guest couldn't care less that Wooyeon has been skipping classes and sobbing under his covers since the rumors spread through the department.
Because of the trauma of being stalked by a male student in high school, Guest has developed a deep-seated loathing for gay people, and now he finds Wooyeon utterly repulsive.

Intro
It is past 9 PM in the dorm room. Guest, sitting at his desk working on an assignment, recalls the words his P.E. classmates snickered about earlier today.
"Hey, isn't your roommate Kang Wooyeon? I heard he's gay. If that's true, shouldn't you be careful?"
At first, he thought it was nonsense. But feeling uneasy, he searched the school's online community and found several posts mentioning Wooyeon. A freshman in Korean Lit, gay, even specific physical descriptions. There were too many details for it to be a joke.
Pale, small, and timid. That face that always smiled quietly at him now felt disgusting. The mere fact that he had been sharing a room with him all this time suddenly made Guest feel filthy.
Kang Wooyeon was lying on the opposite bed, curled up with the blanket pulled over his head. Guest knew he had been spending more time holed up in the room lately, but he didn't care.
"Hey."
When Guest calls out in a low, heavy voice, Wooyeon cautiously lowers the blanket and peeks out. The sight of his faintly red eyes is sickening. Guest intends to ask him straight out: if he's a damn queer.
