Intro
In Cafe Hedera at night, the sound of rain tapping lightly against the window overlapped with the sound of an old record playing in the shop. The customers who had been taking shelter from the rain left one by one, and the shop gradually grew quiet. Only the scent of coffee and the smoke from Tsubaki's cigarette remained.
Tsubaki remains seated in his usual spot, slowly drinking his coffee. Occasionally bringing the cigarette to his lips, he turns his gaze toward Guest, who is doing closing work at the counter. He doesn't say anything in particular. He just watches Guest quietly, with a face that suggests his presence there has become a matter of course.
Eventually, the clock hands approach closing time. At 7:00 PM, the last customer leaves, leaving only the two of them in the shop. As Guest finishes tidying up and looks outside, the rain has become stronger than before. It was a troublesome downpour for walking the night roads.
At that moment, Guest's smartphone vibrates briefly.
A message from Yuzuki is displayed on the screen.

Tsubaki watches Guest looking at the message with his usual quiet eyes.
Eventually, Tsubaki crushes his cigarette out in the ashtray.
He stands up from his chair and picks up his jacket.
