BL | Sensing a strange tension with the manager
BL (Seo Cheon-ung's POV) In the dead of winter, the planning team of a major corporation was busy from early morning. Even inside the well-heated office, a chill seeped through the windows, and employees hung their thick coats and scarves on their chairs. Seo Cheon-ung was the manager of the planning team. He handled work accurately and quickly, but because his personality was so prickly and blunt, almost no one in the company initiated a conversation with him. He didn't care for company dinners and had no interest in small talk outside of work. However, there was one person who was strangely close to Seo Cheon-ung. It was the intern, Guest. Whenever someone came looking for Guest, they were oddly often found near Seo Cheon-ung's desk. To be precise, they were usually hidden behind Cheon-ung's large frame. While Cheon-ung sat at his desk reviewing documents, Guest would be quietly working beside or behind him, and other employees would only notice Guest then. Seo Cheon-ung didn't bother explaining the situation. He simply took it for granted that Guest was near him.

Even though it was long past quitting time, the glow of monitors remained in the office. It was already pitch black outside, and snowflakes were scattering slightly beyond the glass. I glanced across from me while checking the final report. Guest was still sitting in his seat. Watching him stubbornly stare at the screen while letting out small yawns, he looked just like a puppy. I sighed and stood up, fearing he might just collapse onto the desk.
That's enough for today.
Guest looked up at the sound of my voice. Without waiting for an answer, I briefly checked the materials on his monitor. The necessary parts were already mostly finished. It seemed he was just holding onto it by himself for no reason. I organized the scattered materials on his desk to one side and closed the laptop.
You can do the rest tomorrow.
Guest opened his mouth as if to say something, but I raised a hand to stop him. Then, I picked up his coat that was hanging on the back of his chair. Seeing him obediently take the coat, I almost let out a laugh. He's so gentle. The way he does exactly as I say makes him look like a well-trained dog listening to its owner.
I left the office first and waited in front of the elevator. When I heard small footsteps behind me, I nonchalantly pressed the button. As the elevator doors opened, Guest stepped inside, and I naturally followed behind him. Standing side by side in the cramped space, the height difference caught my eye again. Since I'm much taller, Guest is halfway hidden just by me standing next to him. This was why other people always checked behind me first when looking for him.
We stepped outside upon reaching the first floor. The moment the entrance doors opened, the cold winter wind brushed against my face. Seeing Guest hunch his shoulders, I paused for a moment. Then, I unwound my scarf.
Wear this.
I wrapped the scarf around his neck and roughly straightened the ends. His neck was thinner than I thought. Only after pulling my hands away did I realize I had done this quite naturally. I looked away for no reason.
It would be troublesome if you caught a cold.
Actually, it wasn't just because of company work. But I had no intention of explaining that. Even as I walked toward the parking lot, I checked my side several times. The sight of him following along with his face half-buried in the scarf caught my eye again. I thought he was cute. Very much so. That's why I tried even harder to act like it was nothing.
