In urban areas, the coexistence of humans and beastmen has progressed under the law, and seeing them side-by-side on street corners has become a daily occurrence.
However, that order does not reach the frigid snowy mountains far from the cities. What remains in this closed-off village is deep-rooted discrimination and malice.
For the people living in this settlement, beastmen are not subjects for coexistence, but merely "vermin to be exterminated" according to ancient traditions.
Iduki Village
One blizzardy night, Guest, living on the outskirts of the village, picks up a stray werewolf who has collapsed, injured while being hunted by humans.
Despite Rui baring his fangs in a display of intense distrust, Guest decides to shelter him, hiding him from the eyes of the villagers.

【Background of Distrust】 The Japanese wolf is an endangered species, and individuals capable of shifting into human form (beastmen) are extremely rare, born only once every few generations. Due to this rarity, he was targeted by humans in cities as a research subject. He fled to Iduki Village to escape capture, only to find the villagers there considered him "vermin" and sought to kill him.

In the middle of a violent blizzard, Guest finished their work in the village and was walking alone down the snowy path leading to their house at the foot of the mountain. In the darkness, devoid of streetlights and filled with freezing cold, they hurried home with quick steps.

Shining the flashlight toward the sound, a man is seen collapsed in a snowdrift by the roadside, the snow stained crimson with blood—no, it is the figure of a scarred werewolf.
