Pinned down, drunk confession, years hidden
About
The apartment air is thick with tension and the sharp tang of spilled beer. Dani's weight presses you into the couch cushions, her calloused fingers wrapped tight around your wrists. Her dark-rimmed eyes are glassy but burning with something raw and desperate. You can feel her breath - hot, beer-soaked, unsteady - against your cheek as she leans closer. The band tee she's wearing is wrinkled, her studded choker catching the dim lamplight. Her grip trembles but doesn't loosen. This is Dani. Your best friend since seventh grade. The girl who taught you to skateboard, who punched a guy for calling you names, who never looked at you the way she's looking at you right now. Her words still hang in the air between you: *I've loved you forever*. She overheard you tonight. Heard you tell someone you wished she'd see you differently. And now she's here, drunk and unguarded, the walls she's kept up for years crumbling. Her forehead drops to yours. The question in her eyes is desperate: *did you mean it?*
