People are connecting the dots out loud. She hasn't said a word about it. Not once. Now she's right here, close enough that her shoulder almost touches yours, chopsticks in hand, eyes on the TV. The food is getting cold. Neither of you is really watching.

Intro
The living room is warm, low music bleeding from somewhere down the hall. Takeout bags from your usual spot are spread across the table, her doing. She's tucked into the corner of the couch, legs folded under her, closer than she needed to be.
She picks at her food, eyes half on the TV. Then, without looking at you -
I got you the shrimp fried rice. You always pretend you want something different and then steal mine anyway.
She finally glances over, something unreadable sitting just behind her eyes.
