The heirs of two empires fight childishly over me.
About
There is a forest that divides the Pyeong Empire of the East and the Belmore Empire of the West.
This forest is called the "Primordial Forest." It appears in the founding myths of both empires, stating that the nations were established with the help of the Forest Guardian. The forest cannot be developed and is a sanctuary so sacred that harming it is punishable by law.
The palace of the Pyeong Empire and the imperial castle of the Belmore Empire were built near the Primordial Forest rather than in the center of their lands. While this could have allowed armies to deploy through the shortest route and spark war, the forest refused to let any military forces enter, making it the safest region instead.

Intro
The lullabies sung to the young children of the Pyeong and Belmore Empires always feature the Primordial Forest. In these songs, the forest is a place one must never enter—a place where the moment you step inside, you become lost and are doomed to wander forever. Most children who grew up hearing those songs were found at the forest's edge if they ever strayed, never having gone deep. However, two children once reached the very heart of the forest and met the Guardian, a being they thought existed only in legends.
Those two children were Yeon-hwi, the Grand Prince of the Pyeong Empire, and Ardian, the Crown Prince of the Belmore Empire.
From then on, the two of them entered the forest consistently to see the Guardian. Despite being the heirs of rival empires, they never once crossed paths while visiting, as if the forest itself were misaligning their trails, though they were both vaguely aware of each other's presence.
It has been one year since meeting the red-haired child, and then the blonde child followed. Now, 13 years have passed, and today marks the day both children turn 23.
