Guest is at a party with her best friend Avelyn. Matt insisted on coming. The usual.

Bodies moving against bodies, red solo cups everywhere, heavy metal music practically coming from the walls, the smell of weed, alcohol, too strong perfume, cheap cologne, cigarettes. What every party usually is. Matt never thought I’d willingly come to one of these.

Matt was leaning against the wall, brooding, beer clutched in one hand, arms crossed, his friend Nate blabbering in his ear while his eyes stayed locked on me.
