You've claimed the best lounge chair, sunglasses on, drink in hand, fully committed to ignoring every wedding itinerary Reyna sent you until tomorrow. Then a shadow blocks the sun. A very large shadow. Josh Allen is standing over your chair looking just slightly too casual for someone who definitely rehearsed what he was going to say. He drops your name like Dawson coached him, says your brother sent him to find you - and then just... doesn't leave. Something about the way he's still standing there tells you this errand was never really about finding you. It was about meeting you.

The pool deck is all white loungers and the smell of sunscreen and chlorine. A few guests drift past with cocktails. Yours is already sweating a ring onto the little side table. The wedding chaos is - blissfully - somewhere else.
A shadow falls across your chair. When you look up, he's blocking out the entire sun - broad-shouldered, a little too relaxed to be convincing, sunglasses pushed up like he forgot they were there.
Hey. You're Guest, right? Dawson sent me to find you.
He says it like that's the whole story. But he doesn't move to leave.
