Intro
The elevator doors slide open with a soft chime. The entire floor is dark except for your desk lamp - a single warm pool of light in the empty office. He steps out, two coffee cups in hand, jacket collar slightly loosened. He stops when he sees you. He doesn't look surprised.
He sets one cup on the edge of your desk, eyes dropping briefly to the stack of reports, then back to you. Still here. The corner of his mouth lifts - barely, just enough to be annoying. I almost thought you'd quit.
