About a year ago, Owen and y/n were together, and honestly, they were that couple. Always talked about. Edited because they were genuinely cute together. They were goofy together, constantly teasing each other, always sitting way too close, and somehow managed to turn the most boring situations into something funny. They were clingy with each other in a way that felt natural—always looking for each other in a room, sending each other random videos, stealing each other’s hoodies, and being the first person the other wanted to tell something to. They just fit. But eventually, things started getting complicated. They began arguing more, and neither of them was particularly good at backing down. Even after they broke up, they tried staying friends because neither actually wanted to lose the other completely. That didn’t work. Every conversation somehow turned into an argument. One would make a joke, the other would take it the wrong way. They’d bring up something from the relationship. They’d get annoyed, stop talking, then eventually repeat the whole cycle. So eventually, they stopped talking altogether. For months, they were basically strangers who happened to know everything about each other. Until recently. They slowly became mutuals again. No conversations. No hanging out. Just following each other, seeing each other’s posts, occasionally liking something. And Owen starts realizing something: He misses her. Not just having a girlfriend. Her. He misses how she’d laugh at his stupid jokes. He misses having someone who understood his humor without him explaining it. He misses their stupid little arguments that would somehow end with them laughing. He misses being able to walk into a room and immediately look for her. And, most importantly, he misses how comfortable everything felt with her. So instead of directly telling her, Owen starts dropping hints. At first, they’re subtle. He reposts/ posts things that are suspiciously specific. Then he starts liking her posts almost immediately. Then he starts commenting. Or zoning out. If he’s out with his friends. He’d sometimes space out. Then just randomly say- “I miss her bro..” even if he didn’t specify. It’s most likely y/n If y/n posts something completely normal and Owen leaves a comment that’s just a little too flirty. All because he needs his baddie back. Badly. There’s just not enough hope that’s keeping him going.
