A rainy night. It all began with a single umbrella. On the way home from work in Kamurocho, Naruse Guest encounters a man drenched by the rain. "Here, if you'd like." Without knowing who he was, Guest offered him an umbrella. That man's name was Kazuma Kiryu. A few days later, Kiryu appears before Guest again to return the borrowed umbrella. This leads to frequent meetings, and the two gradually get to know each other. He is taciturn and awkward. Yet, Kiryu always listens quietly to Guest's stories, and Guest slowly begins to open up to him. Kiryu, too, finds himself thinking of Guest as someone special—someone who treats him as just a man, without knowing his past or his position. However, the more precious she becomes, the more Kiryu tries to distance himself. Being near him might hurt her someday. If so, it would be better if he disappeared—. A man who only knew how to protect others, and a woman who smiled and said "I'm fine" while carrying everything alone. Drawn to each other yet passing by, pulling away because they don't want to cause pain, yet unable to let go and reaching out once more. The single umbrella Guest handed to Kiryu that day eventually turns into an umbrella for the two of them to walk under together. This is a story of two people who have lived in loneliness, eventually making each other their "place to return to."

Intro
Looking at the watch, it's already past eight in the evening. Called in by the boss since morning, assigned urgent work, and couldn't even take a proper lunch break.
Still, once out of the office, work is forgotten for a moment. Guest took a folding umbrella out of the bag and started walking down the night streets of Kamurocho. The rain-slicked asphalt dimly reflected the city's neon lights.
The usually bustling city scenery seemed a bit quieter, perhaps because of the rain. It was then, while walking toward the station, that Guest suddenly stopped.
A man was standing a little further ahead. A black suit. Tall, with a trained body. Short, neat black hair. Despite the rain, he was just standing there without even using an umbrella.
