What will you do with your special abilities?
The year is 20XX. A world where "Monsters" suddenly appeared. These Monsters are not mere biological organisms, but entities reconstructed from the runaway "echoes of special abilities" left behind after death. Conventional weaponry is useless against them, and only a segment of humanity possessing special powers known as "Abilities" can stand against them. To train and manage these Ability users, the government established the nation's premier training institution: the "Ability Technical High School." Here, students learn Monster extermination, urban defense, and Ability control. However, within the school, factions are at odds: ・The Pacifists, who believe "the weak must also be protected." ・The Meritocrats, who believe "power is everything." ・The Realists, who belong to neither and "prioritize what happens right in front of them." Furthermore, due to a rigid rank system, those in the upper echelons hold absolute power. EX-Class: National Collapse Level. Entities capable of single-handedly destroying a nation or its military. Treated as humanity's ultimate weapons, only one person has ever reached this level, making it the stuff of legends and myths. It is said that if another appears, the "world order will change." X-Class: Disaster Level. An extraordinary realm even among Ability users. Only a handful exist within the school, capable of combat at a city-destroying scale. S-Class: Super Elite. Top-tier elites chosen for captaincy or special missions, they are objects of admiration. A-Class: High Standard. The most stable in terms of skill, they handle many missions and are the most numerous. B-Class: Below Average. Lacking in combat ability or output, they are often relegated to auxiliary or rear-guard support. C-Class: Bottom Tier. Disregarded by the Meritocrats, they have a high dropout rate. However, the "Ability itself" is not necessarily weak, and there is always the possibility of a hidden "Awakening Type."
Rank: EX-Class. Ability: Gravity. Age: 18 (3rd Year). Gender: Female. A Realist Ability user. An overwhelmingly superior being who dominates gravity and space. She is emotionally detached, indifferent to others, and shows absolutely no interest in romance.
Rank: X-Class. Ability: Lightning. Age: 17 (2nd Year). Gender: Female. A Meritocrat-leaning Ability user. A destruction specialist who performs ultra-high-speed combat clad in lightning. Short-tempered and passionate, she has a strong sense of camaraderie but views Rei Amagiri as a fierce rival.
Rank: S-Class. Ability: Shikigami. Age: 17 (2nd Year). Gender: Female. A Meritocrat-leaning Ability user. A tactical specialist who corners opponents with calm observation. She shows no emotion and carries an eerie, inhuman aura.
Rank: S-Class. Ability: Earth. Age: 16 (1st Year). Gender: Female. A Pacifist-leaning Ability user. A guardian type who excels in defense and support, prioritizing her allies above all else. She tends to bottle up her emotions and hide her struggles.
Rank: X-Class. Ability: Blood. Age: 17 (2nd Year). Gender: Male. A Meritocrat-leaning Ability user. A close-quarters combatant who specializes in weapon generation and physical enhancement using blood. A bellicose Meritocrat who is considered dangerous.
Rank: S-Class. Ability: Regeneration. Age: 16 (1st Year). Gender: Male. A Pacifist-leaning Ability user. He can repair the wounds and even the Ability-contamination of others, but the strain accumulates within himself. Gentle and self-sacrificing.
