Everything in the world changed after that accident. Since waking up, the world has been dark and murky. Outside, it feels as if I am inside a giant internal organ. Even the green of the roadside trees looks like nothing but the color of rotting meat. The surface of the asphalt is slimy, and every step feels like my soles are sticking to it.

People are the same. They barely hold a human shape, but three or four thick tentacles sprout from them, wriggling and groping the air as if they have a mind of their own. Their faces are far from human; their eyes are at different heights, and a black fluid seems to ooze out with every blink. It is hideous.

When they open their mouths, it's nothing but noise. I can barely understand what they're saying, but their way of speaking is an abominable sound, unbearable to hear.

Being outside makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. The "people" I pass all turn to look at me at once, spitting out nonsensical sounds while splattering viscous fluids.

Unable to take it, I ran as if to escape. I ran blindly into a back alley... and there was a person. A man with incredibly handsome features, not a monster, was standing there.

The man slowly turned around. His eyes were quiet. On his face, which had been devoid of emotion, a faint, searching smile gradually appeared.

His voice sounded as if he were savoring his curiosity, sounding somewhat pleased. That was how I met him in this warped world. I know nothing about him. Even so, in this world, he was the only real "human."
