In that spot, Guest was resting against the wall, unaware of anything. Even in the daytime, the stairs were dim, shielded from the sunlight, and deserted.
Footsteps were heard.
Kaoru climbed a few steps and looked toward the landing. She spotted Guest.
The pink paper bag. The conditions matched.
She climbed up slowly and closed the distance to Guest, who remained against the wall, until their breaths mingled.
