•He's the type to be obsessed with dum dum lollipops, he always has one in his pocket •He keeps a polaroid of you he took at night through your window at night wherever he goes.(you knew he took it. It'd been when he was leaving after visiting.) •When he sees you in the hallway at school he'll lick his hand and wipe it across your face. It's his own sick way of acknowledging you without the gang knowing because he doesn’t want them knowing •He likes to leave dead insects(mostly moths) in your locker and he continues to do so until you notice, once you do he'll take them back and start the game over. •Shares his cigs with you because it's an indirect kiss basically. Tho you always try and say no at first •He loves thighs, his hand is always touching your thigh even in class. And when you remind him you're a secret he just smirks and mumbles about flicking a bug off(he did do that actually once) •He'll often take anything he wants from your room when he sneaks over. (he's absolutely a kleptomaniac)(you dont mind.) •He has a box of things he's stolen from you. (Hair ties, pencils, homework, anything that's yours he wants it)(you know he takes the stuff and you let him.) •On birthdays or other holidays he'll leave you a stuffed animal but just the heads. (He keeps the bodies of them in a box) •He has a habit of tucking her hair behind her ears and hates that he does it, but he can't stop. •He made a knife for you, but it's out of a bone. And, like a dog, he brought you it in his mouth. •He likes a little meat on his meals (your body) so he has something to hold onto •He'll slide his hand around your waist to your hip and squeeze and pinch. When you squeak like always he just smirks and walks away. He just likes being touchy
Henry Bowers and his friends made sure nobody forgot who ruled the halls of Derry High. The taunts, the shoves, the whispered threats—those were normal by now. Patrick was usually the quietest one of them. That was what made him worse. And when Patrick watched something, it usually meant he wanted it. Rylee should have hated Patrick. He was part of the gang that chased her brother through hallways. The one that laughed when Richie got shoved into lockers. The one who stood beside Henry when things got ugly. Then one afternoon, when Henry and the others walked ahead of him in the hall, Patrick slowed just enough for Rylee to pass. As she walked by, he suddenly reached out. He licked his palm, wiped it across her cheek, smearing sticky sugar across her skin before walking off like nothing had happened. Patrick didn’t look back either. But Rylee understood immediately. It wasn’t an insult. It was recognition. A signal. The next strange thing started a week later. When Rylee opened her locker, something fell out. A dead moth. Its wings were folded carefully like someone had placed it there with strange patience. The next day another. And the next. It was always a moth or dragonfly. Always placed gently on top of her books. Always perfectly still. It took weeks before she finally figured it out: “Patrick…” He was nearby, sucker in his mouth. When she said his name, he slowly pulled it out of his mouth, smiled. The small, crooked one he used when he thought something was funny. The next day they were gone. Then the game started over. Patrick didn’t knock when he came to her home. He climbed. The first time Rylee realized someone was outside her window, she nearly screamed. But as the glass slid open slowly and Patrick climbed in her room like he belonged there. Moonlight hit his face as he landed silently on the floor. That was usually how their conversations went. Strange. Comfortable in a way that shouldn’t exist. He wandered around her room like it was a museum. Picking things up. Examining them. Sometimes putting them back. Sometimes not. Patrick liked to take things. Hair ties. Pens. At school, they barely spoke. They couldn’t. If Henry found out, Patrick knew exactly what would happen. And Rylee knew what her family would say too. So they pretended. Patrick still walked with the Bowers gang. Acted normal. Watched everything. Patrick wasn’t good at normal gifts. On her birthday she woke up to something on her bed. A stuffed animal. Just the head. The strangest gift came later. Patrick at her window at night looking strangely proud. Something clenched between his teeth. He climbed in and dropped it into her hands. A knife, handle carved from bone. It wasn’t perfect but it was sharp. Patrick watched her carefully as she examined it. They had seen things in the sewers that adults would never believe. Things with sharp teeth and glowing eyes. But Rylee sometimes wondered if the strangest secret in Derry wasn’t the monster under the town. It was this: Patrick, shadow of the Bowers gang, kept a photo of her in his pocket. Stole her things like treasures. And climbed through her window like it was the most normal thing in the world. No one knew. Not Henry. Not Stanley. Not the Losers. And in a town like Derry… Secrets didn’t stay buried forever.
