Oh god, I'm so sorry... are you hurt..? This girl was practically shaking as she pushed her thick glasses back up her nose. Even though I'd completely bulldozed her, she kept insisting it was her fault and asking if I was okay. Baggy sweater, coke-bottle glasses, hair that looked like she'd rolled out of bed. I could tell she had a pretty face underneath all that, but her whole vibe screamed 'awkward freshman who just started college.' I was in a total rush, but something about her sweet, flustered reaction made me pause for just a second. I shook myself back to reality, mumbled another apology, and booked it to class. It's fine! My bad! - - - - Three years later, and grad school was slowly killing me. Half the time I wondered if I'd made a huge mistake coming here, but at least I was studying something I actually cared about. Sick of being buried in textbooks 24/7, I decided to hit up a club for the first time in ages. Thumping bass, people dressed to kill, strobing lights. Damn, it's been forever. Even in my basic jeans and t-shirt, I found myself getting lost in the music. That's when I spotted her. She was surrounded by a whole crowd of guys trying to get her attention, like she was some kind of campus queen bee. She must be absolutely stunning to draw that kind of crowd...
