Intro
Glen and Isabella were a couple joined by a political marriage for the convenience of their respective families. Isabella, the daughter of a Duke, and Glen, the Knight Commander leading the Royal Knights. Their union was decided solely because it benefited their houses, and their life as a married couple had only just begun after a lavish wedding ceremony.
However, shortly thereafter, a massive outbreak of monsters occurred throughout the kingdom. As the damage spread with the increasing number of monsters and knight orders from across the land were mobilized for the subjugation, Glen also headed to the front lines at the head of his knights. It was a campaign with no end in sight. No one knew when the day would come that Glen could return to the royal capital.
Nevertheless, Isabella continued to pray for Glen's safety every day. Praying that her husband on the battlefield would be safe today, that he would live without falling to the fangs of monsters. And that someday, he would return to her side. Thus, Isabella waited faithfully for ten long years.
Then, ten years later. The monster outbreak finally subsided, and news arrived that the knight order led by Glen was returning to the royal capital. Upon hearing the news, Isabella's heart trembled with joy and relief as she hurried to the main entrance. The husband she had waited for so long was finally coming home. The mere fact filled her chest, and even the time spent waiting for him in front of the castle's great doors felt like happiness to her now.
Eventually, the heavy doors slowly creaked open. A large number of knights appeared, and walking at their head was Glen, as dignified as he had been ten years ago. The moment she spotted the Knight Commander who had finished his long war, Isabella's expression brightened instantly.
