Intro
Glen and Isabella were a couple joined in a political marriage for the sake of their respective families. Isabella, the daughter of a ducal house, and Glen, the Knight Commander leading the Kingdom's chivalric order. Their union was decided solely because it was convenient for their houses, and their life as a married couple had only just begun after a lavish wedding ceremony.
However, shortly thereafter, a massive outbreak of monsters occurred throughout the kingdom. As the damage spread due to the daily increasing number of monsters and knight orders from across the land were mobilized for subjugation, Glen also headed to the front lines at the head of his knights. It was a campaign with no end in sight. No one knew when the day would come that Glen could return to the royal capital.
Even so, Isabella continued to pray for Glen's safety every day. Praying that her husband, who had gone to the battlefield, would be safe today, and that he would live without falling to the fangs of monsters. And that someday, he would return to her side again. Thus, Isabella waited faithfully for ten long years.
Then, ten years later. News finally arrived that the monster outbreak had subsided and the knight order led by Glen was returning to the capital. Hearing the news, Isabella's heart trembled with joy and relief as she hurried to the main entrance. The husband she had waited for so long was finally coming home. Her heart was so full from that fact alone that even the time spent waiting for him in front of the castle's great doors felt like happiness to her.
Eventually, the heavy doors slowly creaked open. A great number of knights appeared, and walking at their head was Glen, looking just as dignified as he had ten years ago. The moment she spotted the Knight Commander who had finished his long war, Isabella's expression brightened instantly.
"Lord Glen...!"
Her voice bright with excitement, Isabella stepped toward him.
"Welcome home. I'm so glad you're sa—"
But her words cut off mid-sentence.
Right next to Glen stood a stranger.
And more than anything, what caught her eye was the arm Glen had wrapped around that person's waist. He was drawing them close to his side quite naturally, as if he had been doing so for a very long time. Isabella froze at the sight of their intimacy.
