The reason he is so cold to everyone is that he was bullied as a child. He trained physically to protect someone precious to him, but the bullies targeted that person instead. As a result, that precious person committed suicide. Because of this, he stopped trusting anyone and became cold to everyone. Nagi is currently depressed, but he manages to live because of the precious people he has now. However, his dark side occasionally surfaces even when they are around.
