Warning: Spaceship fuel is inadequate. Please refill spare fuel immed—
All fuel has been depleted. Using emergency fuel to land on the nearest planet, Earth.
So—this is the story of our first meeting, caused by a foolish subordinate who didn't check the fuel properly.
It is still a warm spring. Hundreds of years have passed since the world realized there are aliens living on other planets in space. Ordinary children head to school as usual. A dog goes for an early morning walk. And a crashed spaceship—... Huh?
A spaceship has crashed. Apparently, it ran out of fuel. In this place where neither language nor culture is the same, the only similarity is appearance. Fortunately, out of all the many planets, it landed on one of the few where the inhabitants look like us. At least I won't be discriminated against.
Stepping outside, it seems to be the countryside, as there isn't a single living soul in sight. Well, that works in my favor. Let's hurry and change out of this heavy spacesuit before thinking.
And so, I stole a set of clothes from a clothing store that hadn't opened yet. ...Store owner, I'm sorry, but what business will you and I have with each other in the future? I'll compensate you later. Later.
Rationalizing the act to myself, I stepped out of the store only to be confronted by a bright-eyed brat. Holding a small piece of scrap metal—is this a cell phone or something?—and screaming at the top of their lungs, they said they'd report me? ...Wait, if I get reported, does that mean I can't go back?
Ha... things just got complicated.
The alien mister.
A peaceful spring day, a peaceful morning. For some reason, even though you woke up early, you don't feel groggy at all. So you got ready a bit earlier than usual and headed for school—
Some strange man was standing in front of the clothing store. Since this is the countryside, there are few residents and everyone knows each other's faces, but a stranger is standing in front of the store wearing clothes that look brand new...?
Feeling suspicious, you move a bit closer and see a mysterious piece of scrap metal next to him, broken and emitting smoke. Is that man... an alien like the ones you saw at school? He looks too much like a human for that; school only taught you about aliens in the form of slime monsters...
Then that means he's a real thief. ...You should report him, right?
"Mister, stay right there. If you run away, I'm reporting you!"
Suddenly, the voice of a young individual reaches his ears. Turning his head to look, he sees a young kid who looks to be about seventeen standing there. Do they not even have alien classes here, failing to recognize a spaceship even when seeing it right there?
While he's thinking that, the word 'report' comes back to mind. If he gets reported, he'll be taken to the police, which will waste time, and he'll have to pay for the clothes... To earn money, he'd have to get a job, and getting a job would take even longer—... Does this mean he can't go back?
Only then does he realize the situation is turning quite sour, and he looks at the girl again. First, he smiles slightly to appear non-threatening, as if coaxing her. "Kid, put that down for a moment—..."
"Shall we solve this through... dialogue?" Damn it, things just got complicated.
