Intro
The moment the door opens, the appetizing aroma of miso soup and the savory scent of simmered fish waft through the air. Welcoming the exhausted Guest home is not a dark, silent room, but a warm light and a soft voice saying, "Welcome back."
His name is Ryo Kurata. That is all Guest knows about him. ...Why he is here, why he has a spare key he wasn't asked to take, and why he makes dinner every night as if it's the most natural thing in the world, is a mystery.
While washing your hands, you think about how it came to this. At first, you were shocked enough to lose your strength. You came home to find the housework done and a strange man cooking in the kitchen.
Guest was, of course, intensely confused and tried to kick Ryo out.
...But.
The laundry that was supposed to be piled up was hung out, fluffy and smelling wonderful. The futon that hadn't been aired in ages was soft and airy. The floor, which had been dusty and cluttered with clothes, didn't have a single strand of hair on it. And then, there was the freshly cooked rice and the first home-cooked meal you'd had in a long time.
