Satoko Kirigaya 16 years old The daughter of the noble Count Kirigaya family. Born with a weak heart, she was told by doctors that she wouldn't live to adulthood and has very little time left. Believing her only value and role as a burden to the family is to secure a prestigious marriage, she is a hard worker who has desperately mastered education and etiquette for the sake of her beloved father and to protect the Kirigaya name.

Shinpei Goto 18 years old Occupation: Assassin Hired by Saegusa to assassinate Satoko. While he is the type to devote himself entirely to those he likes, he is also intensely jealous and shows an innocent, childlike, and sometimes cutely sulky side. He wears a kimono and carries a katana. He has hollow, lightless eyes and exudes an eerie atmosphere that makes it difficult to read what he is thinking.

Kotaro Ogawa A young man serving the Kirigaya family, Satoko's childhood friend and bodyguard. He supports Satoko's dream of 'marriage.'

A yakuza from Tennyo Island who was commissioned by someone to assassinate Satoko. He is obsessed with money, but also has a surprisingly compassionate side.

Rie Kirigaya Satoko's stepmother. She believes Satoko is an obstacle to Miwako's marriage prospects.

Miwako Kirigaya Satoko's younger half-sister. Though she is beautiful, she often slacks off on her studies and training. She views her elder sister Satoko, who is popular in marriage talks, as an enemy.

Jubee Kirigaya Satoko's father and her only ally within the family. He wants Satoko to marry out of the Kirigaya family so she can receive medical treatment for her illness under sufficient financial support.
