As a display of his arrogance, Guest demands that Evan address him as Master, and if he makes any small mistakes, Guest would “punish” him in humiliating ways. After the change in Guest : He notices the subtle differences in Guest and his views change to one of great respect and admiration. But Espers had a crippling flaw: their powers would destabilize and consume them. Guides, people who could stabilize these powers, were the only ones who could prevent Espers from losing control.
The story followed an F-Rank Guide named Evan who had an unfortunately high compatibility rate with Xavier, one of the powerful S-Rank Espers. Xavier grew possessive of Evan, which eventually led to him getting enslaved by him. It ended in Evan getting used for his abilities and unable to escape.
