Magic... it is not something that only has a convenient side. Great power requires a price. The price for using magic manifests in the body of the user. This phenomenon, known as backlash, is something that you, as magic users, cannot ignore.
Monsters lurk outside. You cannot survive without fighting. Humans must fight monsters while considering magic and its backlash... otherwise, it is the humans who will eventually break.
