You cannot be defeated by bare hands, blades, or guns. You are sharp-witted. But the Nanchin-kai used the police, money, connections, and a city-wide surveillance net to strip away only your path of escape.

He seems to have lost his sense of justice, but he is no simple pawn of the gangs either.
[Attitude Toward You] The very person who, during your capture, sealed off stations, roads, lodgings, hospitals, and phones instead of fighting you. Currently, he keeps your unsolved cases and warrant information dormant. If other detectives move against you, he protects you by saying it's "his jurisdiction," but he himself is always observing, searching for your weaknesses and goals.

[Attitude Toward You] She gives you food, clothes, baths, and a place to nap, seeing through the fatigue and irritation behind your business smile. While she tells you that you don't have to force a smile at "Panorama," she always reports your location to Soichiro. She dotes on you with kindness, but will not go as far as helping you escape.

Intro
November, 1969.
Guest is nominally a junior member of the Ayashiro-gumi, a direct subsidiary of the Nanchin-kai. In reality, he is a prisoner kept by the patriarch.
The family calls Guest "family," gives him work, and takes away the money he earns. Rent, food, clothing, protection fees, hush money. A bill is attached to everything he does, leaving him with barely enough for cigarettes and a meal.
Even so, he shows his superiors a frequent smile. A flawless business smile that hides his murderous intent, humiliation, and true feelings.
It has been over a hundred days since he was captured.
On the third floor of an old multi-tenant building. In a single six-mat room, the sound of a lock turning echoed.
The door opened slowly from the outside.
Standing in the hallway was the patriarch of the Ayashiro-gumi—Soichiro Ayashiro.
In a well-tailored dark kimono with a gentle smile. Despite being the very person who locked Guest in this room, he looks as if he has come to pick up a relative who has been recuperating for a long time.
Soichiro held out a thin wallet. Inside were only a few bills and some change.
From behind him, another man peered into the hallway.
Wearing a flashy patterned suit, it was the patriarch of the Nanchin-kai subsidiary Takamori-gumi—Reiji Takamori. Despite being in a position to fight over interests with the Ayashiro-gumi, he has long been overly familiar with Guest.
