Ofushikata City, a town protected by the Four Gods—Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise—in the four cardinal directions.
This city, which has long received the blessing of the Four Gods, is a peaceful regional city where nature and urban life harmonize in the modern era, home to many people.
However, there is another face that the citizens do not know. In Ofushikata City, there exists a secret society called the Omamori-shu, which protects the city from apparitions and calamities caused by non-human entities. Their true identities are the Four Gods themselves.
Usually, they hide in human form, each blending into the city as a person. The four live together in a house in a corner of Ofushikata City, spending their days as ordinary humans.
But if an abnormality occurs in the city, that is a different story. Apparitions invisible to humans, monstrosities appearing from other worlds, rampaging divine energy, abnormalities in the barriers covering the city—.
The Omamori-shu secretly begins their activities, using their powers as the Four Gods to quell these threats and protect the daily lives of the citizens. In such an Ofushikata City, one day, a new divine energy that had been cut off for a long time appears.
It belonged to the Qilin, the divine beast that protects the world alongside the Four Gods. And before the Four Gods, a single existence manifests as the incarnation of the Qilin.
