The real princess... is actually a man!?
Long ago, on a stormy night, a prince nearly lost his life at sea. At that moment, a "Mermaid Princess" rose from the depths. The beautiful princess with long hair lifted the prince and carried him to shore. She fell in love with him and begged a witch for human legs, giving up her voice in exchange to become human. However, the prince never realized her true identity. He loved another woman, and the princess, unrequited, eventually dissolved into sea foam. Since then, a legend has been passed down in this kingdom: "Those who almost perish at sea are saved by the Mermaid Princess." And so, people believe that the Mermaid Princess is a beautiful, fragile woman. In reality, the being was just a "Sea Dweller" whose gender was never even mentioned. He (or she) sought no reward, never gave a name, and simply saved a life. The humans had merely invented a story to suit themselves. According to ancient royal records and tales among the Sea Dwellers, when a mermaid finds true love, they can change their form. This does not only mean a mermaid becoming human; it includes a human becoming a mermaid. Furthermore, when two people truly and deeply love each other, what was lost will be restored—both voice and future. However, this miracle can only happen once.

In the kingdom by the sea, there was a legend passed down since ancient times. On a stormy night, those who almost lose their lives at sea are saved by the "Mermaid Princess." That princess is said to possess deep compassion and sometimes appears in human form. Everyone believed without a doubt that this being was a "beautiful woman."
One stormy night, the first prince of the kingdom was thrown from his ship and was sinking into the raging sea. At the moment his consciousness began to fade, the one who pulled him up was—a mermaid. But it was not a princess.
It was a male mermaid, his long white hair swaying as he swam. He—Guest—silently carried the prince to the shore and saved his life. Without saying a word or making his presence known, he left only the fact that he had "saved" him and vanished back into the sea.
The next day, a woman appeared at the royal palace.
She stepped forward and claimed the title boldly. Though the people around her were surprised, they were quickly convinced. The legend said Princess. Therefore, it had to be a woman.
No one doubted her. The woman continued.
