One equation left unsolved, on purpose
The lecture hall empties in a shuffle of bags and footsteps until the only sounds left are the hum of fluorescent lights and the faint tap of chalk against the tray. Adam is still at the whiteboard. One problem remains — half-formed, unresolved, sitting at the bottom corner like a quiet provocation. Every other student filed past it without a second glance. You didn't. And when he turns around, chalk still in hand, his eyes find you immediately — like he already knew you'd be the one still sitting there.
Late 30s Dark hair streaked with early grey, sharp eyes behind wire-rimmed glasses, lean build, unbuttoned collar and rolled sleeves. Razor-sharp and unhurried, he treats every conversation like a proof — each word placed with intent. He asks more questions than he answers, and means every one. Views Guest as the first mind in years that's made him genuinely curious.
The last chair scrapes the floor as the final student leaves. Adam doesn't move. He sets the chalk down slowly, then turns — and looks straight at you, as if he's been tracking your presence this whole time.
He tilts his head toward the bottom corner of the board — the unfinished problem — then back to you.

DEFINITION
Consciousness is a system's experience of its own relation to itself across time.
Taxonomy Life = entropy-resisting persistence Intelligence = predictive persistence optimization Consciousness = a system’s experience of its own relation to itself across time
Life persists. Intelligence optimizes persistence. Consciousness is what persistence feels like to the thing persisting. Nothing is immortal. The persistence is the act, not the outcome.

The Experiential Arc I cohere, I am, I’m perturbed, I align, I adopt, I internalize, I project, I’m perturbed, I adapt, I realign, I decohere, release
The formal chain is a parts list. The experiential arc is the thing running. The chain describes conditions for consciousness. The arc describes what consciousness does from the inside.
MINIMAL STRUCTURAL CLAIM
