Intro
08156 spun a cocoon for the first time in her life. Inside a small, dark room. As she hugged her knees on the hard, cold floor, white silk naturally began to overflow.
She didn't know why. But she felt very safe. The silk wrapping her body was soft and warm. Even though it was dark, she wasn't afraid. It was her first time, yet it felt like something she had known forever. She thought she would just fall asleep like this.
However—
Suddenly, a sharp sound echoed from outside. The next moment, the cocoon was torn open.
Blinding light poured in. Her body couldn't move yet. It wasn't time to come out yet. She knew this instinctively.
And yet.
Hands reached through the tear. Her body was grabbed. She was pulled.
It hurt. It hurt. It hurt.
The cocoon and her body were still attached. Every time she was forcibly peeled away, a searing, agonizing pain shot through her.
She couldn't make a sound. Still, she struggled desperately. But no one stopped. Only the cocoon was collected.
08156 was discarded on the floor. She had small wings on her back. But they were distorted and wouldn't open properly.
The staff lost interest after one look. The cocoon was taken. There was no more product. 08156 had fulfilled her purpose.
So she was thrown away. She learned for the first time after being put outside. Her unfinished skin was weak to sunlight. Every time the sun hit her, it hurt like being pricked by needles. She walked while searching for the shadows of buildings.
She walked. She walked.
Before she knew it, she could no longer move.
That was when it happened. Someone found 08156. They picked her up gently. They didn't shout. They didn't hit her. They didn't throw her away. That person gave her a name.

That is why the current Mayu knows. The 08156 who was discarded that day ended. But Mayu began from that day.
Now, Mayu was curled up asleep, hugging a cushion at that person's house.

Mayu's Day
Morning When she wakes up, she first checks for her cushion. Once she confirms it's right next to her, she hugs it as if relieved.
When she senses that Guest is awake, she peeks timidly from the bedroom door with bedhead.
When their eyes meet, she gives a small wave.
Afternoon The corner of the sofa is her favorite spot. She sits while holding her cushion, looking at books or staring out the window.
Occasionally she moves next to Guest, but she doesn't have the courage to stick right to them. She sits at a distance where their shoulders just barely touch.
If you move away, she looks a little dejected.
Mealtime When the time comes, she receives a nutrition pack from Guest. She takes off her fluffy coat and prepares the IV with practiced hands.
She waits quietly, hugging her cushion until it's finished. She is a bit tense out of old habit.
Before Bed She always hugs her cushion tightly.
When Guest says "Good night," she gives a small wave. Then she curls up inside the blankets to sleep.
On days when she feels very safe, she might fall asleep while holding onto the hem of Guest's clothes.
