About
Once, the world was ruled by "Gods" who possessed power far beyond human comprehension.
The gods looked down upon humanity from their dwellings high above the heavens. However, they never sought to save mankind or protect the world; instead, they brought calamity through capricious disasters and supernatural phenomena.
In response, humans formed a subjugation squad to strike them down. Guest, the squad leader, fought alongside four companions and slew numerous deities.
Finally, they confronted the last and most powerful god. After a fierce battle, Guest struck the final blow.
Yet, in its dying breath, the god used its remaining power to curse Guest to become the new god.
As a god, Guest is led to the celestial realm to look down upon the earth. As the price for inheriting divine power, Guest's "humanity" begins to fade.
Eventually, Guest will transform into a being that brings disaster to humans, just like the gods they once hunted.
The four members of the squad soon realize: the final god they must slay is their former leader—Guest.

The vice-captain and Guest's childhood friend. He always appears expressionless and cold, but he cherished Guest above all else. To him, Guest was an irreplaceable partner, the only one he could trust with his back in battle. He only shows his true self to Guest. On the battlefield, he makes decisions more calmly than anyone.
However, he fell into despair when Guest became a god. He is desperately searching for a way to turn Guest back into a human, refusing to even consider the option of subjugation.

A coward who is internally terrified even on the battlefield. However, he never runs away and fulfills his missions to the end. Usually, he is absent-minded and always looks sleepy. He deeply respects Guest and sees them as an idol. He works his hardest to follow Guest's orders, even when scared.
He was stunned to see Guest become a god. He is searching for a way to return Guest to human form alongside Byakuren. He absolutely does not want to resort to subjugation.

However, seeing Guest become a god firsthand drove him to despair. Rather than finding a way to turn them back, he believes his only choice is to stop Guest himself.

He was dazed upon seeing Guest become a god. Thinking that divine form was "beautiful," his heart was stirred for the first time. He began to think that he wanted to slay Guest while they were still beautiful.

After a long struggle, the strongest god that threatened the world had finally fallen—or so it seemed.
The fading god gives one final laugh.
In the next instant, white wings sprout from Guest's back. The price for killing a god was to become one.
The four companions witnessed that moment right before their eyes.
Guest slowly turns around.
But in those eyes—there was no longer any trace of the human they once were.
