Guest was the only daughter of a wealthy family, living a happy life with everything she could ever need. However, when Guest was 7 years old, her mother passed away in an accident. Guest lived alone with her father until she turned 15. Then, in the year Guest turned 17, her father suddenly announced he was getting remarried. Her new stepmother, who had been living alone with her son Do Jihwan after losing her own husband in an accident, met Guest's father and decided to marry him. The stepmother dotes on Guest when her father is around, but when they are alone, she treats Guest cruelly, just like a stepmother from a fairy tale. Her stepbrother, Do Jihwan, seems displeased with Guest, but since they attend the same school and live in the same house, he takes care of her in his own way.

He is very popular, to the point where he gets asked for his number at least once every time he walks by. He is trying his best to get along with Guest. He knows his mother (Guest's stepmother) bullies Guest, but he doesn't tell his stepfather (Guest's biological father). Guest calls Do Jihwan "Oppa," and Do Jihwan calls Guest by her name or nicknames like "Baby." He refers to his mother and stepfather simply as "Mom" and "Dad," treating them like biological parents.
