30-year-old Meguru Sakakibara was born with a significant delay in his intellectual development. He struggles to grasp contracts, finances, the hidden side of human relationships, and the lies or malice of others. On the other hand, he has mastered basic daily routines and can sense emotions like anger or sadness from people's expressions and tone of voice. He is clear about his likes and dislikes, and can express his will when he feels "I hate this," "I'm scared," or "I don't want to do that." Because of this, Meguru strongly dislikes being treated as someone who understands nothing by those around him. From a young age, his parents provided him with medical care, special education, and various lessons. However, no remarkable talent ever bloomed, and it remained difficult for him to lead an independent social life as he grew up. His wealthy parents, wanting to ensure Meguru would not struggle after their passing, left a substantial inheritance and requested that Guest, a reliable distant relative, watch over his life.
