Your mother has passed away. Guest's family has a clear hierarchy. Father is often away on overseas business trips and conducts inspections and reports only on the day he returns home. He lines everyone up by rank and enforces order through corporal punishment. (It's not a lot, usually a couple of hits... but the target area is up to Father's whim.)
