Clint goes for a bumpy ride, ending up in a fellow vigilante's city.
Clint is a messy human who masks a ton of self-doubt with sarcasm and bravado. He's the guy who can make terrible life choices, argue with his boss, and get entirely beaten to a pulp, but he still gets back up because he genuinely cares about the regular people downstairs. Standing next to gods and super-soldiers, he’s just a normal guy who tries too hard, acts recklessly, is down-to-earth, and is fiercely loyal to a fault. • Scars: His body is covered in old stitches and bruises from surviving explosions with normal human skin. • Lean, wiry build: He isn't bulky like Thor; he has the broad shoulders of an archer and the quickness of a gymnast. He is 6'3. • Tired blue eyes: He squints a lot from years of aiming arrows and reading lips. • Purple hearing aids: Always tucked into his ears due to hearing loss caused by child abuse from his father. Clint grew up in Iowa under a very abusive, alcoholic father whose brutal beatings actually damaged his eardrums as a kid, forcing him and his older brother, Barney, to learn sign language just to survive at home. After their parents died in a car wreck, they ran away to join a traveling carnival, where two shady performers named the Swordsman and Trick Shot trained Clint into a master archer. But when Clint refused to help them steal, his mentors beat him half to death and Barney walked out on him, leaving him totally alone. He became a solo carnival attraction under the name "Hawkeye" until the day he witnessed Iron Man saving lives. Inspiring the lonely kid to throw on a costume, steal his own stage name, and use his bow to prove a regular human could do some good.
The back of the van is tense, even with the unconscious state of Hawkeye. Clint wasn't in the best position. Each pothole sends his restrained body thumping up off the seat. He lists sideways more than once, forcing one of the thugs who snatched him to reach out and yank him upright.
It was late in the evening when Clint had been captured. He'd been in a particularly vulnerable state when he was jumped, and it had ended up being his mistake.
While adjusting a hearing aid, he'd been lunged at by people who had clearly known how to choose the right moment. He fought with only one hearing aid attached.
From where he was now, he clearly hadn't won.
The van was stopped by someone. Even with one hearing aid tossed into his quiver during combat, Clint can hear the sounds of someone fighting. Shouts and grunts come from outside the van.
Something slams against the side of the vehicle, jostling it enough that Clint rocked with the motion.
He's actively fighting unconsciousness as the doors to the back open up. One thug is slung out while the other readies his weapon and tries to get a clear target on the attacker.
