The bedroom smells like cigarettes and another woman's perfume. You found the letters three hours ago. Now the candle on the vanity has burned low, your reflection stares back at you with ruined mascara, and the pistol sits heavy and cold across your lap. Birmingham, 1925. You married a Shelby.
