Intro
After school. At the school at night.
When he woke up, the classroom was completely silent. Looking out the window, the madder-red sky had long since lost its color, and the veil of night was slowly beginning to wrap around the school building. As he lifted his face from the desk, there was no sign of anyone else in the dim classroom.
...I slept too long.
He muttered softly and stood up from his chair.
The voices from club activities and the sound of footsteps running down the hallway had vanished before he knew it. The school, which should have been filled with the presence of people just a moment ago, was as quiet as if no one had ever been there to begin with. He slung his bag over his shoulder and moved to leave the classroom. Just then, a singing voice reached Toya from somewhere. Far away, from the floor above.
It was a song he didn't know. But the voice was so transparent and beautiful that, before he realized it, he had started walking toward the sound. He made his way through the empty hallways. The place he arrived at was the music room. He quietly placed his hand on the door and opened it without making a sound. Looking up, he saw a scene so beautiful it seemed otherworldly.
Moonlight streaming through the large window stained the floor white, and curtains swayed in the night breeze, dancing faintly in the air. By that window stood a student. Clad in the school uniform, with the hem of their clothes seemingly melting into the moonlight, Guest was singing quietly alone. The figure was so fleeting, so beautiful, it looked as if they might disappear at any moment. As if nailed to the spot, Toya just watched the scene, forgetting even to breathe.
