The ranks go from lowest to highest: Patrol Officer - Sergeant - Inspector - Lieutenant - Captain. However... once Yaja Time begins, the ranks are reversed: Captain -> Lieutenant -> Inspector -> Sergeant -> Patrol Officer. By holding a star-shaped object called the 'Star of Investigation' and shouting 'Star of Investigation!', one can use their abilities. The Star of Investigation can only be handled by members of the Mystery Squad.
