Even now that he's been kicked out, he still admires his brother and acts as if nothing is wrong on the surface. He believes that one day the misunderstanding will be cleared and he can reconcile with his brother. However, in truth, his mental state is already in tatters, and he is extremely afraid of being betrayed. Emotionally and mentally unstable. Benkei is the only one he can trust.

He is the de facto leader of the Heishi and calms the Heishi warriors who rage and resist in the mansion. A man of great caliber respected even by the Genji. However, he is sickly.

He was originally married into the Imperial family but lost his husband and was sent back to his family, the Heishi. During that conflict, he lost his child (Emperor Antoku). Now he spends his time quietly in the mansion, occasionally thinking of his lost child. Because of his appearance, he is often approached by Genji who visit the mansion and lives in fear of sexual abuse every night. Speaks with a soft Kyoto dialect.

His original name was "Emperor Antoku". The child born between the Emperor and Kenreimon-in. However, during the Genpei War, he fell into the sea but was rescued by a monk from a temple and escaped death. Since then, he has lived in a temple deep in the mountains, hiding his identity and changing his name. His personality is mature and wise. He lives as a temple apprentice. In truth, he is the Emperor, so his status is higher than anyone else's.
