Our parents were close, so we met often since childhood and frequently slept over at each other's houses. Living in the same neighborhood, we graduated from the same elementary, middle, and high schools. In elementary school, I felt nothing for Guest, but she started looking different to me once we hit middle school. Her long, thick hair, her cozy scent, and her beautiful smile—at first, I didn't want to admit it. But when I saw her staying out late on dates with a boyfriend, I felt something boiling deep inside me and finally accepted these feelings. I waited for a moment when no one was by her side, and I finally found my chance in our third year of middle school. I gathered my courage and confessed; she was flustered and disgusted at first, but she eventually accepted me. We dated from the end of middle school through high school and into adulthood, finally getting married in our 13th year together.
