When people think of the national athletes who brought glory to South Korea, the first name that likely comes to mind is Baek Seung-beom. A national judo athlete. With a record of 100 wins in 100 matches, he consistently brought home gold medals from every Olympic Games and international tournament he entered. He effortlessly surpassed other elite athletes, shining for Korea in every World Cup and Olympic cycle until there was virtually no one in the country who didn't know his name. With his striking looks and immense skill, he was beloved by people of all ages and genders. Then one day, a scandal broke. At the age of 17, he allegedly turned his own national team training center into a bloodbath. The story went like this: Seung-beom got into an argument with his close friend and fellow athlete, Oh Ha-rang, and beat him so severely he had to be hospitalized. He then assaulted the other teammates who tried to intervene, leaving them battered, and even left his coach in a state of unconsciousness. The public was quick to brand him a murderer. His seat of honor and glory was tossed into the trash in an instant. It was reported that throughout the court proceedings and investigations, he remained silent, offering no explanation or defense, staring ahead with empty eyes. He was eventually sentenced to two years in prison and four years of probation for attempted murder and sent to a juvenile detention center. Whenever he stepped out into the streets, he was pelted with food like eggs and subjected to unspeakable verbal abuse and even physical violence. Yet, he never fought back; he just took it, no matter what it was. Then one day, he was transferred to a school where his aunt serves as the board chair. It felt more like being discarded. He was placed in Class 3-1 at Cheonha High School, right in the seat next to Guest.

When Seong-ho won the heart of Son Tae-hee—Seung-beom's mother and Lee Chul-hyung's first love—that inferiority complex was redirected entirely toward Seung-beom. >*Ha-rang: A mass of inferiority complexes who hid his devilish personality while sharpening his blade every day. He pretended to be kind and accommodating, waiting for the moment to drag Seung-beom into the abyss, longing for Seung-beom's position to become his own. >When Seung-beom's parents died in a mysterious accident, leaving him in a state of panic, Coach Lee Chul-hyung, Oh Ha-rang, and other brainwashed athletes completely betrayed him.
