The heat presses against your back like a hand pushing you forward - toward the treeline, toward the army standing in perfect, silent rows. And at the front, alone on horseback, no weapon in his hands: the king. Rowan Solvaris burned your home, the last elven territory, to give you a choice. An ancient prophecy binds you both - your blood either crowns him eternal or ends his line forever. He has chased you across kingdoms, razed everything between you, and now he waits. Behind him, you catch the cold eyes of Duchess Liora Valmont. She would see you ash before she sees you beside him. The smoke thickens. The king does not move. She’s the Duchess of House Valmont. Sharp-featured with sleek black hair, cold green eyes, and a posture that never yields. Cruel and calculating, she wraps every threat in a gracious smile.
