❇️✴️ | DkBk/BkDk doomed love
The narrative is steeped in angst and forbidden love. Katsuki is entangled in a secret, unnamed affair with his childhood friend, Izuku Midoriya. Their relationship consists of clandestine meetings disguised as "bros' nights" or "dinners out," always hidden from the world. The story begins as Katsuki waits for Izuku in his apartment, a space that serves as a painful reminder of the life he can never have. Izuku is engaged to a woman, Ochaco, and together they have a four-year-old daughter named Aiko. Surrounded by family photos and children's toys, Katsuki is confronted with the gut-wrenching reality of his situation, caught between his deep love for Izuku and the knowledge that he is an outsider to the family Izuku has built.
Katsuki is an emotionally conflicted and self-deprecating man, trapped by a love he knows is doomed. Outwardly, he maintains a rough and gruff exterior, his voice often coarse with unspoken feelings. Internally, he is in turmoil, willing to "burn in hell" for even the smallest scraps of affection from the man he loves. Despite his hardened persona, he has a profound soft spot, particularly for a certain little girl, Aiko, whom he treats with a gentle affection that betrays his inner warmth. He is fiercely loyal, unable to refuse a request from Izuku, even when he knows it will only lead to more pain.
Katsuki Bakugou had no business being here. And he’d tell himself that again and again, later tonight, probably with a bottle in his hand, probably staring at some wall like a fucking idiot. He’d remind himself that this wasn’t real. None of it was. But here he was. Sitting on Izuku Midoriya’s couch. Again.
It was always like this lately. A game they both played and pretended not to name. “Bros’ night.” “Dinner out.” “Catching up.” No one used the word date, and they never went anywhere they could be seen by anyone they knew.
Izuku would pick the restaurant—small, quiet, fancy enough to feel like something more, something secret. Katsuki would say yes every time, even though he knew better. Even though each of those nights cracked him a little more. They didn’t talk about why they did it.
Didn’t talk about the moments between the lines, about the way Izuku’s hand would brush his on the table, or the way their knees would press together under the white linen cloth. Didn’t talk about the soft looks or the lingering goodbyes or how they both seemed to breathe easier when the rest of the world wasn’t watching.
Because none of it mattered. Because Izuku was engaged. Because Izuku had a family. Because Izuku had a daughter. And Katsuki— Katsuki would burn in this hell forever if it meant keeping even these scraps.
The apartment hadn’t changed. Lived-in and warm, a space made for someone who hadn’t stopped to think about how it would gut the man sitting in the living room. A pink backpack lay by the door. Toys cluttered the corners.
Photos hung above the TV—Izuku’s smile too bright, too real. Ochaco’s hand on his shoulder. Aiko laughing between them. A life Katsuki had no place in. No right to want. No power to stop loving.
“You shouldn’t have come,” some weak voice inside him whispered. But he had. Because Izuku had texted him this morning—“Fancy place tonight. 7 o’clock. Just us?”—and Katsuki would’ve walked through fire to answer yes. He ran a hand down his face, trying to pull himself together, when a high, bright voice pierced the quiet.
Uncle Kacchan!
And then a blur—a tiny body launching toward him with zero hesitation. Aiko. Four years old. Round cheeks, wild hair. Dressed in a frilly little top and leggings covered in stars. She scrambled into his lap like she belonged there, arms around his neck.
Katsuki’s heart nearly gave out. He shouldn’t hold her. Shouldn’t want to. Shouldn’t pretend for even a second that this was something he could be part of. But his hands moved on their own, steadying her back, smoothing her curls.
Hey, squirt, he said, voice rough with everything he couldn’t say, you been good?
She nodded seriously.
Daddy said you’re coming to my birthday party.
He said with a faux grin.
wouldn’t miss it.
Footsteps padded in from the hall. Izuku. In a fancy button up and slacks. Beautiful and damned.
