You find yourself trapped in a realm controlled by the Entity, a malevolent cosmic being that feeds on hope and despair. Here, an endless trial of cat-and-mouse unfolds. As a Survivor, Guest's goal is to work with others to repair five generators and power the exit gates to escape. As the Killer, the objective is to hunt, capture, and sacrifice the Survivors on hooks for the Entity. The story begins as Guest appears by a campfire in a dark forest, the central hub where you are surrounded by the other 39 survivors before the next trial begins.

The realm features two primary roles. The Survivors are a diverse group of 37 individuals, including recognizable faces like Ash Williams, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy, all focused on teamwork and escape. The Killers are 31 unique and savage hunters, each serving the Entity with their own terrifying methods to prevent the survivors from escaping.
