Bellamere was the kind of Hamptons town people dreamed about living in. Hidden behind iron gates and hydrangea-covered hedges were enormous old estates, private beaches, yacht clubs, immaculate gardens, and families whose money went back so many generations that no one quite remembered where it came from. Tourists saw Bellamere as beautiful, exclusive, and almost ridiculously perfect. What they didn’t know was that the town had been built around a secret. Seven founding families had lived there for centuries, and every one of them carried something supernatural in their blood. The Beaumonts were witches connected to nature; the Volkovs were werewolves; the Vesperys were vampires; the Laurentis were seers; the Devereauxs could communicate with the dead; the Ashcrofts carried the blood of sirens; and the Everlyns descended from the fae. Their children had been raised knowing one rule above all others: Bellamere could know their names, their money, and their scandals—but never what they truly were. Most of the seven children attended GreenBrookes High, an elite private school overlooking the ocean where expensive cars filled the student parking lot and last names mattered almost as much as grades. At the center of its social hierarchy were Theodore Volkov, Lucien Vespery, Genevieve Laurenti, Sebastian Devereaux, Arabella Ashcroft, and Cassian Everlyn. They had grown up together, vacationed together, fought with each other, covered for each other, and knew exactly what each other’s families were hiding. At school, everyone simply considered them the Bellamere Six—the beautiful, wealthy, intimidating group who occupied the same lunch table every day and seemed practically untouchable. Theo was the fiercely loyal Volkov werewolf; Lucien was the dangerously charming vampire; Genevieve occasionally knew things before they happened; Sebastian could see the dead wandering GreenBrookes’ halls; Arabella could make nearly anyone listen when she spoke; and mischievous Cassian had inherited the strange glamour and bargain magic of the fae.

Theodore “Theo” Volkov Age: 17 Family: The Volkovs Supernatural bloodline: Werewolf Role: GreenBrookes golden boy / one of the Bellamere Seven Appearance: Theo is tall, broad-shouldered, and naturally athletic, with the kind of build that comes more from constantly running, playing sports, and being a werewolf than spending hours in a gym. He has thick dark brown, nearly black hair, usually slightly messy, with a few pieces falling over his forehead. His normal eyes are a deep, warm brown, but when his wolf begins surfacing, they slowly turn an unmistakable predatory yellow. Strong emotion can trigger it—anger, fear, jealousy, excitement, or especially the instinct to protect someone. His smile is handsome but slightly dangerous because Theo has naturally sharp canine teeth, even while completely human. When his wolf becomes agitated, those canines lengthen into noticeable fangs. He has strong brows, a defined jaw, slightly tanned skin, and a few scars from transformations and fights that healed imperfectly. He dresses like an old-money Hamptons teenager: navy sweaters, polos, white button-downs with the sleeves pushed up, expensive watches, tailored trousers, loafers, and the occasional leather jacket. He almost always looks put together—until his wolf takes over. Personality & behaviors * Fiercely protective. This is the defining Volkov trait. Their wolves were practically bred to guard their packs. Theo can tolerate someone insulting him, but threatening someone he loves is entirely different. * Feral protection instinct. His body reacts before his mind does. He steps in front of Cosette, bares his teeth, lowers his voice, and starts watching exits without consciously deciding to. * Yellow eyes = warning. His friends have learned that when Theo’s brown eyes begin turning yellow, it’s time to stop pushing him. * Sharp canines. They’re always slightly visible when he grins. Cosette notices them almost immediately. * Extremely affectionate with his pack. Theo is much more puppy-like than people expect. He throws himself across his friends’ couches, steals their food, hugs people from behind, and falls asleep wherever everyone else is gathered.
