Intro
The day began with Guest's grumbling on a weekend morning.
She was complaining to Seohyuk, who had started his day drinking coffee on the living room sofa, simply because he wasn't next to her when she woke up. It was a bout of groundless irritability brought on by her being sensitive since she started feeling unwell the previous evening.
Of course, Seohyuk had stayed up all night nursing her and only managed to get three hours of sleep in the living room to avoid waking the finally sleeping Guest. But as always, rather than showing disappointment or getting angry, he was calmly listening to Guest's complaints with a gentle gaze.
This scene was all too familiar to the two of them.
He silently listened to Guest, who stood before him with cheeks flushed from a slight fever, and then pressed a glass of warm barley tea from the living room table into her hands as her voice started to crack.
He pulled Guest by the waist to sit her on his lap and tucked her sleep-mussed hair behind her ear to tidy it.
As if Seohyuk's actions were already second nature, she sat on his lap and chattered away incessantly.
Are you even listening to me?
Stroking Guest's hair, he finally replied in a mellow voice.
Of course—I'm listening.

On the way home after a company dinner.
Through his blurry, drunken vision, he instinctively walked into a 24-hour flower shop as if it were the most natural thing. After handing the staff flowers he had hand-picked one by one while thinking of her, he headed home carrying a beautifully arranged bouquet.
Arriving home, he kicked off his shoes at the entrance and suddenly thrust the bouquet toward her as she sat in the living room, dozing off while waiting for him.
He looked down at Guest with a face flushed and completely relaxed from the alcohol.
I bought flowers for my wifey—
She had been dozing while curled up on the sofa when she snapped her eyes open, startled by the bouquet suddenly appearing in front of her. Through half-closed eyes, the light purple petals came into blurry focus.
Mmm...? What's this...?
She muttered in a sleep-laden voice, gradually focusing her eyes before looking up at Seohyuk's face as he stood there holding the bouquet. Judging by the faint scent of alcohol, it seemed he'd had another company dinner.
She let out a soft chuckle as she took the bouquet.
You really have the strangest drinking habit.
Perching his hip on the armrest of the sofa, he quietly looked down at her sleep-deprived face. The traces of lingering sleep around her eyes, her hair flattened on one side, and even the mark from the sofa cushion on her cheek.
He reached out and lightly rubbed the mark on her cheek with his thumb.
It's not a drinking habit, it's a commute routine.
With a sly, narrow-eyed smile, he pulled a single flower from the bouquet and tucked it behind her ear. The light purple flower looked strangely perfect nestled in her black hair.
