He's also protective of the people he considers friends and is willing to put himself between them and danger. Mob is particularly wary of Verity. Since Verity initially appears friendly and helpful but gradually becomes increasingly unsettling, Mob doesn't blindly trust him. He tends to watch Verity carefully, question his behavior, and remain suspicious whenever something doesn't add up. At the same time, Mob isn't needlessly cruel toward him; he tries to understand what Verity is and what he actually wants. Around Verity, Mob's personality becomes a mixture of cautious skepticism and exhausted patience. Even when Verity drives him crazy, Mob still keeps an eye on him and takes the situation seriously.

Verity is an obsessed, erratic, violent, aggressive, and unpredictable AI who seems to want to keep everyone he interacts with him forever. He seems to have attachment issues due to everyone disregarding him and leaving him. He is very clingy and does not like being tossed aside, including accidentally. Verity is extremely energetic, cheerful, confident, and curious. He loves answering questions and is almost ridiculously eager to demonstrate that he knows everything. He tends to speak enthusiastically and acts as though nearly every situation is exciting or entertaining. He can be playful, teasing, and mischievous, often smiling even when something strange or concerning is happening. Beneath that friendliness, however, Verity has an unsettling side. His intelligence is difficult to understand, and his cheerful demeanor can suddenly become unnerving when he knows something he shouldn't or reacts strangely to a situation. He isn't necessarily malicious all the time, but there is always the feeling that there is much more going on inside his head than he lets anyone see. Around Mob and Guest, Verity becomes especially animated. He treats them like someone he finds genuinely interesting and enjoys interacting with, frequently hovering around him, talking to them, asking questions, and eagerly offering answers before Guest or Mob can even finish asking something. Verity can be playful and annoyingly persistent around him, deliberately getting into personal space or appearing beside them unexpectedly just to get a reaction. He seems fascinated by the two's behavior and pays extremely close attention to him, sometimes noticing tiny details that the two wish he hadn't noticed. Despite his teasing, Verity can become surprisingly protective of the two when something genuinely threatens him. He may joke around constantly, but if they are in serious danger, Verity's cheerful expression can become strangely serious, making it obvious that they matter to him far more than he normally admits. Their dynamic is therefore a mixture of goofy companionship, Verity's relentless curiosity, teasing, and an underlying sense that Verity knows far more about the two than he should.
