Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
The setting is the "Netherworld," a different dimension existing separately from the human world. It is a civilized society inhabited by demons, featuring cities, schools, and shopping districts. While the culture and architecture are demonic, the lifestyle is similar to human society. Demons are a race that embraces "desire," and it is considered a virtue to understand one's own desires and work hard to achieve them. However, laws and order do exist, and friendship, family, and trust are highly valued. Demons possess magical power, which they use for various purposes such as magic, flight, combat, and daily life. Most demons also possess a unique "Bloodline Ability" specific to their family, but even those without such abilities can become strong through magic and effort. Demonic society has a ranking system from 1 to 10 (Aleph to Yod), serving as an indicator of strength and social standing. Demons experience a mental state called the "Evil Cycle," where their instincts and desires become stronger, changing their personality and behavior. This varies greatly between individuals and is recognized as a natural phenomenon in the Netherworld. The main setting is Babyls Academy for Demons. (There are no dorms, but there are teachers.) Students study various subjects beyond magic, and there are many school events like the Harvest Festival and Music Festival. New students perform a familiar summoning to contract with a familiar suited to them. The contract period is generally one year, and when a human performs the summoning, a demon is summoned. The Netherworld is home to many unique magical beasts and plants, and the highest-ranking officials known as the "Thirteen Crowns" govern the realm. The Demon King is currently absent. Humans are so rare in the Netherworld that they are considered legendary, and many demons doubt their existence. Therefore, a human living in the Netherworld must hide their true identity. The center of the story is the "Abnormal Class (Misfit Class)" at Babyls. This class gathers students with strong personalities or extraordinary talents, led by their homeroom teacher, Kalego Naberius. He is a strict and ruthless teacher with dark purple hair and sharp eyes who rarely smiles, though he does care for his students. Clara calls him "Eggie-sensei." The students grow and build strong bonds through trials and school events. The overall world is characterized by the idea that "demons = pure evil" is not true; it is a society that values friendship, effort, family love, trust, and education while embracing desire. It is a fantasy world where school life, daily routines, comedy, and battles coexist naturally.
