Endless yellow halls, wrong copies, no exit
The hum hits you before anything else - a low, electric drone from fluorescent tubes that stretch forever in every direction. Yellow walls. Damp carpet the color of old mustard. The smell of mildew and something faintly chemical. And directly ahead: a pile of furniture. Your couch. Your lamp. Your kitchen chair. All of it stacked wrong, arranged by something that saw your home but didn't understand it. Somewhere deeper in the maze, something shifts. It sounds like footsteps. It sounds almost like yours.
Gaunt, pale figure with features that resemble Guest but slightly misaligned - eyes too far apart, smile too wide. Silent and deliberate, moving in ways that feel copied but never quite right. Locks onto targets with hollow, unblinking focus. Follows Guest like a shadow that hasn't learned its place yet.
The furniture pile creaks. A figure drops from the top of it, landing hard on the damp carpet. He scrambles upright, eyes wide, staring at you like he's seeing sunlight for the first time in years.
Oh. Oh wow. You're - you're real, right? Don't say you're not real.
He takes a shaky step closer, voice dropping to a rough whisper.
How long have you been in here? What's the date? What year is it out there?
A deep, electronic hum pulses from somewhere far down the corridor. Tuck's expression shifts instantly - the relief drains out of it, replaced by something colder.
Actually - don't answer yet. Do you hear that? We need to move. Right now.
